George Alan Ingalls earned the Medal of Honor posthumously on this day in Vietnam when he smothered enemy grenades with his body. Honor and remember him!
Ingalls was a Specialist Four in the 1st Cavalry Division when Viet Cong troops threw grenades to his squad as it lay in wait for a night ambush. Ingalls could have saved himself, but he dove on the grenade instead.
